Her short film Sega played the International Competition at Clermont-Ferrand and won the Jury Award at BlackStar and the Golden Dhow at Zanzibar. She co-wrote Apple TV+'s Little America, a Humanitas nominee, and directed In Her Element for Queen Latifah's Queen Collective, which premiered on BET. As a producer and associate producer, four of her projects have played the Sundance Film Festival.
Idil previously contributed to the blog Everyday Africa and served on the advisory board of Bronx Documentary Center’s film program. Her work has been covered in Variety, IndieWire, the Los Angeles Times, Forbes, The Guardian, Glamour and Elle.
